Commission for Awarding National Prize convenes in first meeting

Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/- The members of the Commission for Awarding the National Prize convened in the first meeting on 28 May. It was chaired by deputy head of the commission, Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.

The commission members approved the action plan for this year’s edition of the contest. At the same time, they discussed the innovative elements of the new Regulation on the organization of the contest, approved on 23 May 2018, which extended the range of achievements for which the National Prize is awarded.

Also, they considered the actions due to be accomplished for the good organization of the contest. In this context, they emphasized the need to disseminate information to the public on the new criteria for selection and evaluation of candidates, as well as on the new areas where performances included in the competition were carried out.

The national prizes worth 100,000 lei each will be awarded traditionally during the events dedicated to Independence Day.
