Chisinau, 29 May /MOLDPRES/ - The water from the lakes Râşcani, La Izvor”, Valea Trandafirilor, Valea Morilor, Vatra and the Dniester river does not meet the environment quality requirements for surface waters and cannot be used on entertainment purposes. Physicians of the Public Health Centre from Chisinau have made statements to this effect, after they took samples from lakes.

According to the physicians, coliform bacteria and E. Coli have been found in the water of Chisinau-based lakes. Helminth eggs were not discovered in the sand on beaches of entertainment areas.

Physicians noted that, in 2018, the competent local public authorities had started works for preparing for the summer season in time. The beaches are cleaned from household waste. The equipment placed on beaches was painted and repaired. Network of drinking water has not been set to the beaches of Rascani and Vatra. Works of connection to water supply are carried out on the beach of Valea Morilor.

Epidemiologists informed that the sanitary state of entertainment areas from the Moldovan capital left to be desired. The water basins are not cleaned of mud and vegetal waste. Rescue stations have not been repaired and the first-aid kits for the summer season have not been renewed. Public WCs from entertainment areas, served by the Autosalubritate administration, are not supplied with flowing water, which does not allow cleaning and disinfecting them.
