Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ - The hearing of a report on the work of the Prosecutor General’s Office for 2017 has been postponed. Parliament Speaker Andrian Candu made statements to this effect in the beginning of a parliament meeting today.
According to Candu, Prosecutor General Eduard Harunjen has been put in hospital and cannot participate in the meeting. For this reason, the report’s hearing was adjourned for a next meeting.
Under the legislation in force, the prosecutor general annually unveils an activity report in parliament. Initially, this report is considered in parliamentary commissions.
Data by the Prosecutor General’s Office shows that over 35,500 offences were recorded in 2017, - by 15 per cent less than in the year before.
