Thirty seven students become beneficiaries of top Moldovan bank's partnership

Chisinau, 31 May /MOLDPRES/ – The program "Burse pentru Viitorul Tau!" (Scholarships for Your Future!) has nominated its winners. Thirty seven students from nine educational institutions in Moldova have received scholarships in amount of MDL 7,000 each during the contest organised by the University Information Centre (CIU) in partnership with BC "Moldova Agroindbank" SA (MAIB).
Twenty two of the winners are students from low – income families enrolled in the first year of studies at higher education institutions of Moldova and fifteen scholars are winners of previous issues promoted in the second year and third year of studies, which have applied for renewal of scholarships.
The event was attended by Minister of Healthcare, Labour and Social Protection, Svetlana Cebotari, State Secretary of the Ministry of Culture, Andrei Chistol, Chairman of the MAIB Steering Committee, Serghei Cebotari, Vice President of the Rectors' Council, Gheorghe Avornic.
Serghei Cebotari mentioned during award ceremony that MAIB has been working to consolidate the project since 2014, focusing on continuity, provide more safety and confidence to scholars. "I want to believe that through this project we are able to give you more motivation to have more academic and beautiful results and to implement rich knowledge in order to create a prosperous future at home," said the chairman of the MAIB Steering Committee.
Director of the University Information Centre, Angela Muset, said: "We are very glad that together with our loyal partner MAIB we have succeeded in continuing this valuable project and providing support to young people which require financial support for successfully graduated from school year. The scholars have shown academic performance, which demonstrates that it is worth investing in today's young people to benefit from trained specialists in the future."
The first year student at the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy, Heba Verebcean, said scholarship is a significant support for study process. "I want to express with all my being that this contribution should be crowned with laurels of success and with outstanding academic performances."
The programme "Scholarships for Your Future" has reached its 4th issue. This year contest was attended by 85 students from the 1st, 2nd and 3rd years of study, day section, from 12 higher education institutions of Moldova. The files submitted for competition were evaluated by an independent panel of experts. During four annual editions of programme, over 420 students participated in contest, with a total of 170 scholarships being offered.
