Chisinau, 7 June /MOLDPRES/- The government notice on the draft law amending the Article 50 and Article 51 of the Constitution of Moldova will be published in the Official Journal of Moldova on 8 June.
Following the amendments to the supreme law, the term "disabled" will be replaced by the term "persons with disabilities".
Under the amendments, the provisions of the Constitution of Moldova will be adjusted to international and national legislation that had already been upgraded. This is a commitment made by ratifying the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities and the Law on Social Inclusion of Disabled People, adopted in March 2012.
Previously, in order to adjust the national legislation to the provisions of the UN Convention, amendments and additions to normative acts in different fields were approved, and discriminatory terminology was eliminated.
To become a law, the draft law amending the Article 50 and Article 51 of the Constitution of Moldova must be adopted by Parliament.
