Chisinau, 07 June /MOLDPRES/ – The EU Programme GAMCON (Gagauzian Modernisation Convention) will fund another 12 social projects in Gagauzia. They were selected from 35 initiatives presented during the programme's second phase.
According to project coordinator, Dumitru Furtuna, quoted by gagauzinfo.md, there were submitted eight of 12 winning proposals by representatives of civil society, non – governmental organisations (NGOs) and mayor's offices.
Thus, GAMCON has chosen to fund opening of an office for joint activity of youths and public associations within region, for charity centre "Raspandeste bunatate" (Spread goodness), for a gym for disadvantaged persons and a vocational school.
The authors of other four projects are members of a programme for young people in autonomy. These ones provide for creation of a mobile training centre for freelancing, a creative room, a cinema club, and Active Youth Centre. Each project is calculated for funding ranging from €5 thousand – €10 thousand.
The GAMCON project is an initiative of Embassy of Slovakia in Moldova, launched in 2017, and supports youth policies and development of social sphere in autonomy. The GAMCON project includes four divisions, which will benefit from European grants. According to programme managers, these are sectors that require more support – youth, sport, tourism, social infrastructure, education and culture.
