Moldovan parliament ratifies Additional Protocol Nagoya-Kuala Lumpur

Chisinau, 07 June /MOLDPRES/ – The Parliament has ratified Additional Protocol Nagoya – Kuala Lumpur on liability and redress for Cartagena protocol on biosafety today.
The Protocol which was signed in January 2012 is an instrument of international law within liability and compensation for damages resulting from cross – border movement of genetically modified organisms that contribute to ensuring biological safety related to use of living modified organisms.
According to authors, ratification of Protocol will have a favourable impact upon environment and human health, providing rules for obtaining maximum benefits from use of living modified organisms, as well as repairing damage to environmental damage.
