Moldovan foreign minister has working meeting with President of Interpol

Chisinau, 07 June /MOLDPRES/ – Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, has discussed with the President of Interpol, Meng Hongwei, paying a working visit to Moldova firstly, the strengthening cooperation relations of Moldova with Interpol International Cooperation Organisation of Interpol Police Forces, the Foreign and European Integration Ministry’s information and media communication service has reported.
Within the dialogue framework, Minister Tudor Ulianovschi said the visit offers opportunity to strengthen cooperation relations of national police structures with INTERPOL as to prevent and fight transnational crime, implement training programmes for police officers in accomplishment of their missions.
Tudor Ulianovschi and Meng Hongwei exchanged views on ongoing areas of cooperation aimed at enhancing law enforcement capacity of Moldova to identify, investigate and address threats faced by the country and region.
Meng Hongwei appreciated cooperation of Moldova throughout his organisation within international community, noting that Moldova is the leader in the information exchange within the International Organisation for the Cooperation of Police Forces.
INTERPOL was created in 1923 and is largest international police organisation with 190 member countries, each represented by a Central National Office.
