Art critic Tudor Braga would have turned 70 years

Chisinau, 13 June /MOLDPRES/- Art critic Tudor Braga, the winner of the National Prize, would have turned 70 years old today.
Tudor Braga was born on 13 June 1948 in the village of Răspopeni, Soldanesti district. In 1969, he graduated from "Alexandru Plămădeală" College of Fine Arts from Chişinău and in 1988 - the Union of Postgraduate Studies for the leaders of culture in Moscow.
In 1966-2011, he conducted studies and research on fine arts, the problems related to the preservation of the artistic patrimony, the attribution of the artistic heritage works, the interpretation of the contemporary creative process in plastic art and folk art, retrospectives of some artistic phenomena, as well as over 1,000 portraits of artists.
For years, Tudor Braga has held the position of director of the Constantin Brâncuşi exhibition center. He organized numerous painting exhibitions and wrote hundreds of chronicles about the work of artists in our country. In 2015, Tudor Braga was awarded the National Prize for the 20th Century Basarabian Masters Collection in 14 volumes.
Braga died on 3 December 2016, following a ruthless illness at the age of 68. He was buried in his native village of Răspopeni, Şoldăneşti district.
