Moldovan parliament to host photo exhibition

Chisinau, 13 June /MOLDPRES/ – The Parliament will host photo exhibition of fathers with their newborn babies "First Moments Matter". The event is organised in partnership with UNICEF Moldova and it will be inaugurated on 14 June 2018 on the International Day of Fathers, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.

The official opening ceremony will be attended by Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu, UNICEF Country Representative in Moldova, Desiree Jongsma, interpreter and fresh dad Alex Calancea, other protagonists in pictures, parents and children.

There will be exhibited photos of fathers with their children in early days. The photos were taken in maternities in Moldova, in May – June 2018.

The photo exhibition is part of UNICEF campaign "First Moments Matter", which aims to raise awareness of importance of first 1,000 days of child's life for brain development and impact of early experiences on developing brain. The International Day of Fathers is an opportunity to remember that fathers involved in raising their children from early days of life contribute to harmonious development of their children.

The launch ceremony will start at 09:30.
