Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - The Interior Ministry’s (MAI) General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations (IGSU)  will set anti-heat tents in more settlements of Moldova, where people will be able to drink water and protect themselves against sun in peak hours.

Contacted by MOLDPRES, the IGSU press officer, Liliana Puscasu, said that the rehabilitation points were to be set in five districts of the Chisinau municipality, as well as in cities of Balti, Cahul and Comrat.

“The anti-heat tents will be opened daily starting from 11:00 till 18:00. In Chisinau, they will be arranged at the following addresses: Botanica district, nearby the„1000 de Mărunțușuri” (1,000 Small Goods) trade centre; Centru district, near the Central Market; Rascani district, nearby the Matei Basarab Market; Ciocana district, on the Ginta Latina 18 Street and Buiucani district, on the Iesilor Street 1. People are urged to come here to drink water and protect themselves against sun in peak hours. The goal of arranging such points is to protect residents from the bad effects of the heat, especially in peak hours,” Puscasu said.

According to Puscasu, the last years’ practice shows that elderly people, mothers with children and sellers working under the sun during the day come to rescuers’ tents most often.

Also, the IGSU representative reminded about the exceptional danger of fires and warned the residents to observe the anti-fire security rules and adults should take care of minors who go to bath in water basins.

The State Hydrometeorological Service (SHS) issued a Yellow Code of dog days and exceptional fire danger for 12-15 June. According to meteorologists, the maximum air temperature will reach +33 - +34 Celsius degrees in the districts from central and southern Moldova on these days.

In the context, physicians recommend the limiting of the duration of walks and sun baths during 10:00-18:00 and intense physical effort, bearing clothes made of natural fibres of light colours, with long sleeves and covering heads with caps and hats. Also, doctors recommend the consumption of an average of 2-3 litres of not so cold flat water, warm teas, fresh fruits and vegetables and avoidance of  alcoholic drinks, including beer and beverages containing caffeine.
