Moldovan-Finnish bilateral relations discussed in Chisinau

Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ - The bilateral and cooperation relations between Moldova and Finland were discussed at a meeting of the Moldovan diplomacy head, Tudor Ulianovschi and Finnish Foreign Affairs Minister Teamo Soini in Chisinau today.
Following the meeting, at a joint news conference, the two diplomats said that the bilateral ties between Moldova and Finland were good and that they would work more in the long run on the economic cooperation dimension.
“During discussions, I reiterated Moldova’s priorities in the process of cooperation with the European Union and Council of Europe, in the context of Finland taking over the EU Presidency. We had a constructive discussion on the entire spectrum of bilateral relations. We paid special attention to the regional security context, as well as to the process of settlement of the conflict in the eastern districts,” Ulianovschi noted.
The Moldovan foreign affairs minister said that he had thanked his Finnish counterpart for the support provided by the government of Finland to more twinning projects underway in Moldova.
Minister Teamo Soini specified that Finland was a good friend of Moldova and would further provide support. “I reiterate our support for Moldova,” Soini stressed.
Foreign Affairs Minister of Finland Teamo Soini is on a 13-14 June working visit to Moldova, at an invitation by the Moldovan diplomacy head, Tudor Ulianovschi.
