Moldovan parliament ratifies agreement with World Tourism Organisation

Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ – The Legislature has ratified today the Agreement of the Government of Moldova and World Tourism Organisation (UNWTO) onto arrangement of the Third World Conference on Wine Tourism. There voted 80 MPs to ratify the document.
According to the Agreement which was signed on 20 April 2018, the Third World Wine Tourism Conference of the World Tourism Organisation will be held on 06 – 07 September in Chisinau. It aims to promote wine tourism, including participation of domestic wine companies and the tourism sector.
There will be organised actions to promote wine tourism: field news, workshops, sightseeing, exchange of experience within Conference. The event will be attended by high – ranking tourism officials of EU, Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS) and other states, field professionals, representatives from all wine countries in the world.
Currently, about 20 wineries in Moldova provide tourist services to foreign visitors. In 2017, Moldova organised and hosted the 61st Meeting of UNWTO Regional Commission for Europe, which helped to promote Moldova as an attractive tourist destination.
