Finland backs reform process, European aspirations of Moldova

Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ – Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, and Finnish Foreign Minister, Timo Soini, have exchanged views on mutual cooperation, Moldova's relationship with EU, reform process in Moldova and security situation in the region, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Prime Minister, Pavel Filip, praised the political dialogue of two states and said he wanted a deepening of bilateral relations. The Prime Minister reported upon major reforms implemented in Moldova, emphasising that the activity of Executive is based on the EU Association Agreement and main objective is to ensure irreversibility of the European path.
In this context, Pavel Filip specified relying on support of Finland during the exercise of presidency of EU Council in second half of 2019 to provide a clearer perspective in relations with EU.
The Finnish Minister of Foreign Affairs has congratulated the Executive for ample reform process it carries out. "There are no easy changes, much work is being done to provide stability and predictability, which will ultimately create more advantageous conditions for foreign investors," said Timo Soini.
In other range of ideas, interlocutors referred to recent developments on the Transnistrian dimension. The PM appreciated significant support of Finland for settlement of the Transnistrian conflict. "A priority issue is the withdrawal of foreign military troops from the territory of Moldova. Without foreign military presence, it will be much easier to resolve this conflict," said Premier.
