Moldovan parliament speaker meets foreign minister of Finland

Chisinau, 14 June /MOLDPRES/ – Parliament Speaker, Andrian Candu, has met today with Foreign Minister of Finland, Timo Soini, paying a working visit to Moldova.
According to the parliament’s communication and public relations department, Andrian Candu has outlined that election year we are in will have no impact on pace of implementation of the promised changes to people, and consolidation of rule of law, democratic system and continuation of the fight with corruption remain priorities in actions planned by the government for 2018.
At his his turn, Timo Soini welcomed cooperation and teamwork of Parliament and Government, which in his opinion has produced good results for Moldova recently. According to the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Finland, the path chosen by Moldova is not easy, but continuation of reforms will bring benefits to it. "Finland supports Moldova and we want you to succeed," said Timo Soini.
The parties discussed reforms in Moldova, projects to be adopted until parliamentary elections and Parliamentary Assembly of Moldova – Georgia – Ukraine, a project meant to strengthen position of three EU – associated states upon expressed aspirations and threats faced.
Finland will take over EU presidency in second half of 2019 and Council of Ministers of CoE in November 2018 – May 2019.
