Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/- The press officer of General Inspectorate for Emergencies, Liliana Puşcaşu, said that the rehabilitation points were arranged in five sectors of Chisinau and in Balti, Cahul and Comrat.
“In the early hours, only 1,300 people addressed to rehabilitation points in Chişinău. Rescuers have provided those who want water, and many people have rested away from the sun," Puscasu said.
She said that in the capital yesterday citizens were offered over 250 liters of water. "There were 150 people in Cahul at the rehabilitation points, and in Comrat – 570 people received water. Tents work in crowded places where there is a constant flow of people. They can offer water between 11:00 and 18:00. Rehabilitation points will be active in days with temperatures that will exceed 34-35 degrees Celsius," she said.
The practice of previous years shows that the elderly, mothers with children and sellers who work in the sun during the day most often come to rescue tents.
Also, the IGSU representative reminded the exceptional fire hazard and alerted the population to comply with fire safety rules and adults to care for minors who go swimming.
The State Hydrometeorological Service issued for 12-15 June Yellow Code of Heat and exceptional fire danger. According to meteorologists, these days in the central and southern regions of the country, the maximum air temperature will reach +33-34 degrees Celsius.
In this context, doctors recommend limiting the length of walks and sun bathing between 10.00-18.00 hours and intense physical effort, wearing clothes made of natural fibers bright colors with long sleeves and hats. Also, it is recommended to consume an average of 2-3 liters of water, hot teas, fresh fruit and vegetables, and avoiding alcoholic beverages, including beer and caffeine.
