Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/- The Board of Directors of the National Agency for Energy Regulation (ANRE) today decided, following debates in a public meeting, to reduce on average by 10 percent the tariff for electricity supplied to the population by the Gas Natural Fenosa company and Nord supply company.
According to ANRE, the electricity price provided by Gas Natural Fenosa to households was set at 179 bani per kilowatt/hour, compared to the current 199 bani per kilowatt / hour. For consumers whose installations are connected to medium voltage distribution networks (6-10 kV), prices will be reduced from 182 to 160 bani per kW/hour and for consumers connected to high voltage distribution networks (35, 100 kV), from 153 to 134 bani per kWh/hour.
ANRE also decided to reduce the regulated electricity price provided by the Nord supply company for domestic consumers in the north of the country from 212 bani to 191 bani per one kilowatt/hour. For consumers whose installations are connected to medium voltage power distribution networks (6-10 kV), the price will be reduced from 184 to 166 bani per kWh / hour.
The Gas Natural Fenosa Group in Moldova presented in late April to ANRE requests for tariff adjustment for the distribution service and regulated prices for electricity supply. According to the project, the price for households was proposed to be reduced by 5.5 percent, from 199 bani to 187.99 dollars per kilowatt/hour. The Nord supply company has requested a reduction from 212 to 198.48 bani per kilowatt/hour.
ANRE Representative Alexandru Ursu said that several factors, including previously accumulated financial deviations, increased the price of energy imports from an average of 4.9 to 5.16 cents per kWh, as well as the price from local producers from 148 to 160 lei had been taken into account, when updating the rates.
According to ANRE, the new tariffs will come into force on 1 July 2018.
