Moldova's council for prevention, elimination of discrimination has five new members

Chisinau, 15 June /MOLDPRES/ - The parliament today appointed to office five members of the council for the prevention and elimination of discrimination and ensuring equality.
The new members of the council are: Ian Feldman, Svetlana Doltu, Andrei Brighidin, Evghenii Goloșceapov and Victorina Luca, who will have a five-year mandate.
Those five officials were selected following a public contest held by a special commission, after they had passed an individual interview, in which civil society’s representatives participated too. Sixteen candidates submitted the files to this contest in all.
The council for the prevention and elimination of discrimination and ensuring equality is an autonomous, impartial and independent public authority, set up in 2013, the task of which is to prevent and protect against discrimination, ensure equality, promote equal opportunities and diversity.
