DescOpera Music Festival held in Moldova

Chisinau, 16 June /MOLDPRES/- The third edition of the "DescOpera" Music Festival was inaugurated yesterday evening in the "Orheiul Vechi" Natural-Cultural Reservation in Butuceni, Orhei district, and will take place on 15-17 June.

Minister of Education, Culture and Research Monica Babuc said that "DesOpera" is a famous festival. "Someone said there are richer countries that do not have such a festival. For three years, the rocks and turn of Raut have been hosting a festival Moldova has every reason to be proud of. Here, in this place blessed by God, all the best and most beautiful of our country harmoniously merged: nature, music and the human soul. I wish you in the three days of dreaming and delight of your heart to rediscover a masterpiece of classical music,” Babuc said.

For his part, director of Eco-Resort Butuceni Anatolie Botnaru said that DesOpera Festival is unique in the world. "The idea came from the Austrian conductor Friedrich Pfeiffer. We have an extraordinary amphitheater and a village with traditions that are combined with classical music," he said.

According to the opera singer from Romania, Sorin Lupu, DescOpera is a unique festival, which does not exist in other countries. "We do not have such a festival in Romania. I know there is in Austria. I have been to Chisinau several times, I have worked with many artists here and I am glad that I was invited this time, too ", Lupu said.

The "DescOpera" Festival is organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the National Opera and Ballet Theater "Maria Biesu" and the "Serghei Lunchevici" National Philharmonic in partnership with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Government of Sweden, the Swiss Development and Cooperation Council in the Republic of Moldova and the National Vine and Wine Office. The Eco-Resort "Butuceni" hosted the event.

This year, the event is part of the campaign to promote Moldova as a tourist destination - "Be Our Guest" and is organized under the auspices of the tourism brand "Tree of Life" and Moldovan Wine brand. Guests have the opportunity to visit the sites, the monastery, the cave complexes, the museum and the households of the people who preserve the atmosphere of the past centuries, and also to participate in the master culinary masterpieces prepared by the hosts of the event. The first edition of the "DescOpera" festival took place in June 2016 and was dedicated to the 25th anniversary of the proclamation of the independence of the Republic of Moldova.
