Aqueduct system due to provide water to north Moldova village completed

Chisinau, 18 June /MOLDPRES/ - The works of installation and construction of a 23.3-km-long aqueduct system have been completed in the Bahrinesti village, northern Floresti district. As a result, conditions were created for the connection of about 500 households to water supply.    

The works of installation and construction of the aqueduct started in last August and were evaluated by a special commission in late last week. These works are part of a project titled, Water for life in northern region: Floresti and Soroca districts, implemented by the North Regional Development Agency (ADR Nord). The water supply services will be provided by the enterprise Servicii Comunale Florești” SA (Floresti Public Utilities stock company).  

For the time being, 240 households are connected to the aqueduct system. On the next period, the local public administration is to undertake needed measures to connect also the other households to the aqueduct. According to the director of the aforementioned stock company, Vitalie Ungureanu, water will be available in the households connected to the aqueduct as of 1 July this year. 

The cost of the sub-project from Bahrinesti is of 8.32 million lei – allocated from sources of the National Fund for Regional Development (FNDR). The carrying out of the works of installation and construction of the aqueduct system from Bahrinesti is one of the stages of implementation of the project, Water for life in northern region: Floresti and Soroca districts. The overall budget of the project is 66.1 million lei, of which 29.9 million lei is demanded from FNDR sources and 29.9 million lei represents co-financing of the ApaSan Swiss Agency. The total cost of the project includes also contribution of the residents from the settlements concerned by the project, as well as of the enterprise, Floresti Public Utilities stock company. The main goal of the project is to ensure the connection of ten rural settlements from the Floresti and Soroca district to water supply.
