Chisinau, 18 June /MOLDPRES/- The meeting in which the mandate of the elected mayor of Chisinau, Andrei Nastase was to be validated, was postponed, after the representative of the Chisinau District Electoral Council asked for the judge to be dismissed, a request that has been accepted.
After the former magistrate's appeal, the deputy head of the court will redistribute the case to another judge.
Today's postponement is the second of its kind. On 15 June, the examination of the case for the validation of the mayoral mandate was postponed, after the Socialists have filed appeals to the Supreme Court in which they invoked the alleged violations on election day.
The candidate of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party, Andrei Nastase, has got the largest number of votes in the 3 June elections. After being sworn in, Nastase will hold office for a period of one year until the ordinary local elections.
