No private kindergarten in Chisinau accredited, capital’s leadership says

Chisinau, 18 June /MOLDPRES/- No private kindergarten in Chisinau has authorization from the General Directorate for Education, Youth and Sports and is not verified. This is a business and parents risk when they enroll children in kindergartens. Acting mayor of Chisinau Ruslan Codreanu made the statement at a today’s operative meeting of the mayoral services.

According to Codreanu, these kindergartens are largely opened in private homes and are not verified at the level of sanitary standards, nor in the implementation of the curriculum.

"If you ask the Ministry of Education, no one will be able to tell you how many they are, because they are not recorded anywhere. If something happens, who is responsible? It's a sensitive subject, because we're talking about children's safety,” Codreanu said.

The official asked the General Directorate for Education, Youth and Sport to hold discussions on the matter, and to call representatives of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research, the Public Health Center and representatives of the parents' associations.
