Summer People's University to be held in north Moldova city

Chisinau, 19 June /MOLDPRES/ – The Vth issue of Summer People's University Constantin Stere takes place in Soroca city on 21 – 22 June.

The event is organised by the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) Mihai Eminescu in Chisinau in collaboration with the council of Soroca district, City Hall of Soroca and Cultural Association Grigore Vieru in the locality.

According to organisers, the event will start on 21 June, with flowers deposited at busts of writers Mihai Eminescu, Ion Creanga, Constantin Stere, Grigore Vieru, after which it will open the works of Summer People's University Constantin Stere. The event will be attended by director of ICR Chisinau, academician Valeriu Matei, president of Cultural Society Grigore Vieru, Ana Bejan, head of Soroca district Ghenadie Muntean, and Mayor of Soroca, Victor Sau.   

Afterwards, it will be held a communication session, dedicated to members of Sfatul Tarii (Country Council) in Soroca region and journalism of Constantin Stere. It will continue by launch of two books: "Constantin Stere. Publishing", Volume IV, edited by Victor Durnea and "The figures of Soroca" by Paul Vataman, edited by Nicolae Bulat.

In the afternoon, there will start works of two communication sessions: "The contemporary personalities of Soroca district – Ana Bejan, Ion Manascurta and Petre Popa."

The day will end with performance "Tara mea de glorii, tara mea de dor" (My country of glories, my country of hankering), performed by a group of actors from Poetic Theatre Alexie Mateevici in Chisinau, presented at Theatre Veniamin Apostol in Soroca.

On 22 June, at lyceum Constantin Stere, there will be a round table dedicated to culture of Soroca from interwar period.

The first issue of Summer People's University Constantin Stere took place in Soroca in 2014.
