Government examines projects’ results of capitalising on migration potential in Moldova

Chisinau, 19 June /MOLDPRES/ – The Coordination Council of Programme "Realising the potential of migration in Moldova" has met today at its fourth meeting to assess realisation stage of proposed activities, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
The programme includes a series of projects aimed at achieving objectives of National Strategy Diaspora – 2025, Action Plan for 2016 – 2018, which will contribute to elaboration of a new strategy for employment of young people and reintegration of return home migrants.
The representatives of Diaspora Relations Office (BRD), National Employment Agency (ANA) and CALM attended the meeting. Also, the development partners of our country were present: the IOM mission in Moldova and UNDP/MiDL, as well as Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation, which financially supported program implementation, which was highly appreciated by authorities in Chisinau.
The agenda of discussions included examination of obtained results in the second phase of project "Strengthening institutional framework of Moldova within of migration and development", implemented by State Chancellery by means of BRD. In this respect, it was mentioned: elaboration of a concept of data collection and collaboration mechanism of specialized institutions for systematisation of vacancies info in Moldova, as well as development of central and local training on integration of migration field in local development strategies.
The participations also had constructive discussions on implementation of project "The integrated local migration and local development" (MiDL), and there were reviewed results obtained in 2018. On this segment, there were launched four intercommunity cooperation projects including 13 localities in Moldova, provision of technical assistance and continuous evaluation of 38 local associations launched under the project. Also, it was mentioned training of officials in charge for reintegration of migrants of territorial employment agencies.
During the meeting, representatives of State Chancellery confirmed their support for continuation in a new efficient formula of project "The strengthening of link of migration and development in Moldova: Adapting and testing the model of integrated services provider NEXUS Moldova as a Sustainable Social Enterprise." It will be implemented by UNDP Moldova and IOM, and planned activities for 2018 – 2020 aim to provide the necessary support for Moldovan migrants for development of their communities of origin.
