Drivers speaking by phone while driving to be sanctioned in Moldova

Chisinau, 21 June /MOLDPRES/ - The use of mobile phones or similar devices while driving might be sanctioned. The parliament adopted a draft law to this end in the first reading today.

Under the document, drivers will be able to use integrated wireless hands-free devices of vehicles. Also, exception represents the use of mobile phones or similar devices in order to utilize GPS navigation systems and phone calls at emergency services.

At the same time, the draft suggests that the civil sanctions for the non-observance of preventive driving norms and carrying out activities distracting attention while driving should be applied for drivers of vehicles, motorcycles, motor-bike, bicycles and animal traction vehicles.

The draft is to be voted in the final reading.
