Exhibition on recovered cultural heritage varnished at museum in Chisinau

Chisinau, 21 June /MOLDPRES/ – An unprecedented exhibition entitled "Patrimoniul salvat" (The rescued patrimony) was unveiled today at the National History Museum of Moldova (MNIM).
Interviewed by agency, Ana Boldureanu, head of institution department, mentioned that the exhibition brings to public objects that are part of the museum collection following the decision of the interdepartmental commission for determining the destination of objects, confiscated or stolen, of historical, scientific, artistic or other cultural value, as well as objects of worship, instituted with the Ministry of Finance (MF).
"These objects have been confiscated over the years by Moldovan law enforcement agencies, including those detained at various customs posts in the country. They feature a wide variety of exhibits: painted wood icons, bronze castings, platinum ornaments, gold and silver with precious stones, gold coins, ancient coins, decorations, secular and religious silverware, etc. Totally, there are exhibited over 5,000 pieces," said Ana Boldureanu.
The exhibition is open until 25 September.
