New issue of Stefan cel Mare festival starts in Moldovan capital

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ – The festivals "Stefan cel Mare si Sfant" (Stephen the Great and Holy) and "Canta cucu – n Bucovina" (Sings cuckoo in Bucovina), which will take place until 02 July, began 28 June evening in central Public Garden in Chisinau with a show of music and play in national costumes and a folk song collage.
There participate 35 folk ensembles from Moldova, Romania and Ukraine in the event.
The two festivals are organised by the European Cultural Centre "Dacia", Association of Cultural Centres of Greece, Spain, Ukraine, Italy, Romania and Moldova, in partnership with the Chisinau City Hall and the General Directorate for Education, Youth and Sport.
Today, at 18:00, start cultural and artistic events in Public Garden Stefan cel Mare si Sfant and in Vadul lui Voda town. The performers, orchestras, dancers and folk ensembles will perform on stage. Here, the craftsmen will also exhibit their handicrafts.
On Saturday, 30 June, at 15:00, the National Library of Moldova in Chisinau will host a Cultural-Historical Symposium dedicated to the reign of the great ruler.
On 02 July, at 10:00, there will be a thanksgiving memorial and laying of flowers at the monument of ruler Stefan cel Mare.
