Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - The tyres sold in Moldova will have on the rolling band a label showing the class of fuel consumption efficiency, exterior noise class and the class of adhesiveness on wet surface. This is stipulated in a regulation on the labeling of tyres, approved by the cabinet today.
The regulation’s goal is to enhance the safety and economic and ecological efficiency of the roads transport sector through the promotion of efficient tyres from the viewpoint of fuel consumption, safe and with a low level of noise.
According to experts’ estimations, the switch of touring cars registered in Moldova from lower class tyres (D, E ,F, G) to more efficient class ones (A, B,C), in conditions of a distance of 10,000 km covered, would make savings of fuel of about 5.4 thousand tons per year or over 86 million lei annually. Moreover, the aforementioned economizing of fuel would cut the CO2 emissions by over 13,500 tons.
The regulation will enter into force six months after its publication in the Official Journal.
