Moldovan foreign affairs minister says visit to USA proves existence of economic potential which must be turned to account

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ - The official visit to USA has proved the existence of a quite big economic potential which we must turn to good account by attracting American investors. Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Tudor Ulianovschi has made statements to this effect in an interview given exclusively to the MOLDPRES State News Agency.    

According to the official, the participants in meetings tackled a string of political and economic issues.

„As for the political sector, U.S. officials reaffirmed their support for the European integration of Moldova. Under the economic aspect, there is a working group dealing with subjects in this field. In the USA, we had more meetings with business people, who represent American companies appreciated internationally on the segment of electronics and IT. At discussions, representatives of the Motorola company informed that they would pay a visit to Chisinau in the next three weeks, in order to collect facts on the specific feature of industrial parks, IT parks and free economic zones,” Ulianovschi said.  

Prime Minister Pavel Filip, accompanied by more diplomats and civil servants from Moldova, paid a working visit to the United States on 24-26 June. During the visit, he had more meetings with high-ranking officials.
