Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ – The insured persons will no longer be required to submit the paper insurance policy as to benefit from medical services or compensated medicines. In this sense, the notion of "Compulsory healthcare insurance policy" will be replaced by concept "Insured person status", according to amendments approved today by the Executive of the Law of mandatory medical assurance.
According the government’s communication and protocol department, the policy activation procedure will therefore be simplified as well. The citizens insured by state and economic agents will no longer have to go to headquarters of the National Healthcare Insurance Company (CNAM) to raise paper-based policies. The storing of records of state insured persons will be done through electronic reporting channels, where the necessary information will be collected from employers and empowered institutions. This will facilitate the process of population inclusion in the mandatory healthcare insurance system.
Similarly, the exclusion of liability to hold a paper-based insurance policy will facilitate the digitisation of public services, especially in the context of the implementation of the government electronic payment system, and will have a positive impact on the citizens of Moldova which are abroad and pay insurance premium in fixed amount.
Also, the document provides for possibility of losing status of insured person for employees in which interests, for over one consecutive year, the insurance premiums have not been paid in the form of a percentage contribution to salary. This provision will also be reflected in the liquidated units, which do not actually provide info about the dismissed insured employees. The decrease of such cases will ensure equality in healthcare insurance system.
