Victims of political repressions to benefit from additional facilities on behalf of Moldovan government

Chisinau, 29 June /MOLDPRES/ – The provision of additional social facilities to victims of Stalinist deportations was examined at Government today, during a meeting chaired by PM Pavel Filip. The talks focused on possibility of increasing the monthly allowance for deportees, but also introduction of other facilities that would contribute to improvement of their quality of life, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
During the meeting, it was examined possibility of creating a package of prophylactic medical services which victims of deportations would be able to receive free of charge. Also, yearly, the persons will be able to obtain discount treatment tickets at sanatorium.
The victims of deportations will also receive new ID cards issued and made by the Public Service Agency (ASP) in order to increase the safety of the act confirming the status of persons.
The victims of Stalinist deportations will be commemorated on 06 July, this day being declared a national mourning day. In all localities in Moldova, the state flags will be lowered and there will be kept a minute of silence at 10:00.
At present, there are 8,000 deportees in Moldova. This year, they will receive from the state a material aid of MDL 1,000, by MDL 300 more than in 2017.
