Chisinau, 30 June /MOLDPRES/ - The authorities of the southern Taraclia town have banned bathing in all water basins of the settlement. The mayor of the district centre, Serghei Filipov, issued an instruction to this end.
The reason for the ban consists in the fact that “none of the water basins of the town meets the sanitary norms and security requirements.”
“To secure the life and health of citizens, given that there is no lake arranged for the mass leisure of people on the territory of the Taraclia mayoralty, endowed with services of rescue and providing the first aid in need, according to the sanitary and hygienic rigours, bathing is prohibited in all water basins of the town, without exception,” Taraclia mayor Serghei Filipov said, cited by www.gagauzinfo.md
At the same time, the local authorities recommended that the administrations of enterprises and organizations warn employees, especially those having minors, to be cautious and observe the mayoralty’s decision.
A child drowned in Taraclia one week ago. Preliminary data shows that he slid and fell into a lake from the settlement.
