At the same time, the police urge the participants to abstain from illegal actions and do not hold guns, explosive objects, banned substances or anything else which might endanger the life and health of people.
„The DIALOG (Dialogue) service, made up of professional employees of the Interior Ministry’s entities, will be present at the public demonstrations too. According to the Police, four tents will be placed on the Great National Assembly Square (PM AN) in the zone of the streets Mitropolit Banuescu Bodoni and A. Pushkin, where the Dialog service will provide a climate of safety to all people participating in the meeting. At the same time, water will be made available in tents and physicians of MAI’s Hospital will be present on the spot.
Transport means cold be parked nearby the Circus, the Mihai Viteazul and Columna streets, as well as outside the Academy of Sciences and the public transport will be re-directed to adjacent streets.
To strengthen the dialogue with citizens and enhance the degree of safety, the Police urge all participants in the event to exercise their right to free expression by peaceful means. “We ask policemen to be informed, immediately after suspect objects, dubious persons, drunk or under drugs’ influence are noticed, or if you are witnesses of a situation of destabilization of public order. For this, call the 112 number or announce the nearest policeman,” the General Police Inspectorate said.
More parties announced new protests against the cancellation of the local polls, won by the candidate of the Dignity and Truth Platform Party, Andrei Nastase, in Chisinau on 1 July. Maia Sandu, the leader of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), which backed Nastase’s candidacy, told a news conference on 27 June that the protesters had three claims: validation of the new local polls; cancellation of the mixed voting system for the next autumn parliamentary elections and opening criminal files against those seven judges who invalidated the new local elections in the Chisinau municipality. The Central Electoral Commission on 29 June confirmed the invalidation of local elections in the Moldovan capital and ruled that no new voting would be organized ahead of the general local polls due in 2019.
