Moldova, Japan might sign agreement of investment protection

Chisinau, 02 July /MOLDPRES/ – Moldova and Japan might sign an investment protection agreement, which will provide security to foreign businessmen. The statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, in an exclusive interview for agency.
The subject will be discussed by Tudor Ulianovschi with authorities in Tokyo during a working visit by head of Moldovan diplomacy to Japan on 02 – 05 July.
This is the first visit of the head of Moldovan diplomacy to Tokyo after the mutual inauguration of the diplomatic missions in 2016. "The opening of the Moldovan Embassy in Tokyo was crucial for carrying out several economic and agricultural projects. During the visit, there will be announced new projects for different regions of our country. We will discuss with business representatives, as there are companies interested in investing in Moldova. The other important topics are: deepening political dialogue, road transport and tourism. During the meetings we propose to sign an investment protection agreement, a similar document had been previously signed with Canada. We intend to have a permanent dialogue and carry out the joint projects successfully," said Ulianovschi.
The agenda of Minister Tudor Ulianovschi includes working meetings with his Japanese counterpart, Taro Kono, Japanese National Dietetics (Parliament), officials from Japan for International Cooperation Agency (JICA), Foreign Trade Organisation of Japan (JETRO), Japanese Association of Tourism Agencies (JATA) and Federation of Japanese Businessmen (Keidaren).
During the meeting with representatives of Moldovan importing companies, there will be discussed the existing issues in this field as well as the possibilities of increasing the potential of national products and services that can be exported both on the Japanese market and other markets in respective region.
