Person which would have shot dead placed in custody in Chisinau municipality

Chisinau, 02 July /MOLDPRES/ – The person, which would have shot dead Teodor Taranu, was placed in custody for 30 days. The decision was taken by the magistrates of Chisinau Court, Buiucani sector, today.

According to the case prosecutor, the suspect refused to make statements before court. The man did not even answer the questions asked by journalists.

Teodor Taranu is the son of political analyst Anatol Taranu. The victim was 30 years old and the suspect is 32 years old.

According to police statement, Teodor Taranu would have been shot dead by his neighbour on the night of 30 June in an apartment in the Buiucani sector of Chisinau. The two would have consumed alcoholic drinks together, and at some point there would have occurred a conflict.

The body of the man had three wounds produced by shooting. On spot, it was found the gun legally held by the suspect, from which the victim was shot.

In this case, it was started a criminal case for murder. If found guilty, suspect risks 10 – 15 years in prison.
