Russia appoints new ambassador to Moldova

Chisinau, 2 July /MOLDPRES/ - Russian President Vladimir Putin today appointed a new ambassador to Moldova.
According to the Russian agency TASS, the Kremlin leader signed a decree to this effect.
Under the document, the new ambassador of Russia to Moldova will be Oleg Vasnetsov.
Vasnetsov will replace Ambassador Farit Mukhametshin, who turned 71 – an age which exceeds the age limit for acting in public service. Mukhametshin has held this position since April 2012.
The new ambassador has been working at the Foreign Affairs Ministry starting from 1975. He speaks three languages: English, French and Bulgarian. Oleg Vasnetsov worked at the department for cultural relations of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the department for relations with regions from Russia, parliament and public associations, as well as at Russia’s embassies from Sofia, Paris and Kinshasa (Congo).
