Moldova, China sign agreement on mutual recognition of graduation diplomas

Chisinau, 3 July /MOLDPRES/ - Education, Culture and Research Minister Monica Babuc and Ambassador of China to Moldova Zhang Yinghong today signed an agreement on mutual recognition of diplomas, certificates and academic titles in the higher education.
The document provides for the facilitation of the procedure of recognizing by the competent bodies of the education acts and qualifications got in Moldova and in the People’s Republic of China. Thus, the agreement establishes the conditions for the admission of students from Moldova to universities from China and vice versa, the education documents the candidate must hold, including the number of academic credits and qualifications got at the end of each syllabus and their equivalents in the education system from each country, as well as other financial and procedural aspects.
At the signing event, Monica Babuc said that the new agreement represented a joint framework of recognition of education documents, in conditions when, for almost twenty years, the two countries had been carrying out exchanges of scholars within more programmes of academic mobility. “The signing of this act will create opportunities for the development of inter-human contacts and friendship relations between both states, providing them a sustainable development,” the official said.
Data by the Education, Culture and Research Ministry shows that, starting 2001 till present, about 150 young people from Moldova have studied at diverse universities from China. In the 2018-2019 academic year, nine Moldovan citizens were recommended for education in China and four Chinese citizens will have possibility to study at universities from Moldova.
