Moldovan cabinet approves distribution of budget-financed places for academic year 2018-2019

Chisinau, 04 July /MOLDPRES/ – The government has approved today staff training plans, financed by state budget, in higher education and technical institutions for academic year 2018 – 2019, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.  

In bachelor studies, there will be admitted 4,906 persons to 167 specialties, a number of budget places similar to 2017 – 2018. In accordance with labour market requirements, it is proposed to introduce several new specialties, like: engineering and engineering activities, arts, agricultural sciences, healthcare and sports sciences.

For master's degree studies, there will be financed 2,876 budget places, while 453 persons will be admitted to residency studies. For foreign students, there will be reserved 297 places, including 255 – undergraduate and 42 – master.

In the secondary technical education institutions for 2018 – 2019, there will be admitted 7,073 persons with budget financing and 680 – with payment of study fee. The admission plan for post – secondary technical and post – secondary non – tertiary technical education provides admission of 3,759 students with budget funding and 7,361 with contract payment. The project provides 305 budget – funded places for pedagogical specialties: early education and primary education.

The documents also provide for further development of dual education. The secondary technical vocational education includes 1,408 positions on it, increasing by 546 places compared to 2017 – 2018, and there are planned 160 places for non – tertiary post – secondary technical and post – secondary technical training programmes.
