Moldovan servicemen acting on contract basis to benefit from allowances for renting dwellings

Chisinau, 4 July /MOLDPRES/ - More than 1,000 employees of the Defence Ministry acting on contract basis will receive monthly allowances for renting dwellings. The cabinet of ministers today approved a regulation to this effect, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

The draft sees setting a monthly allowance for contract servicemen who are not provided with office dwellings and who are included in the list of record of applicants for these dwellings.    
To benefit from the financial compensation, the military will have to hold contracts for rent and present proof that they have no dwelling. Under the draft, the size of the compensation will not exceed the office salary.   

At present, 1,389 applicants for compensations for rent are registered at the Defence Ministry, of whom 961 work in Chisinau and 352 – in the Balti municipality.    

At a previous meeting, the government approved similar facilities for special status employees of the Interior Ministry.
