Japan to host second issue of Moldovan wines promotion campaign

Chisinau, 05 July /MOLDPRES/ – By the end of 2018, it will be held in Tokyo the second issue of campaign to promote national wine production in Japan. The statement was made by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, during a meeting with representatives of companies importing Moldovan wines in Japan, the MAEIE’s information and media communication service has reported.
In the dialogue with representatives of wine – importing companies, the aspects of cooperation of the Japanese economic agents and national producers, problems they face within working process, as well as possibilities of expanding bilateral relations on given segment, including increase of volume of wine Moldovan imports into Japan, as well as initiation of bilateral investment projects by participation of business environment of Moldova and Japan.
In the context, head of Moldovan diplomacy mentioned that statistical data indicate that in 2016 Moldova exported 106 thousand litres of wine to Japan, representing an increase of 11 per cent compared to 2015. "According to statistical data, in 2017, the volume of exports of Moldovan wines to foreign markets increased by 5.5 per cent and reached 14 million decals, and revenues obtained by domestic producers increased by about 16 per cent," said Minister Ulianovschi.
The representatives of Japanese companies welcomed the decision to set second issue of campaign to promote national wine production in Japan, noting that it would contribute even more to promotion of Moldovan wines on Japanese market, as well as image of Moldova there. During the discussion, Japanese businesspeople showed interest in expanding trade and economic relations with Moldova and other sectors, emphasising interest and import of other Moldovan products, especially from the agri – food sector.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Tudor Ulianovschi, pays a working visit to Japan on 02 – 05 July.
