Foreign air company launches five new direct flights from Chisinau

Chisinau, 05 July /MOLDPRES/ – The Wizz Air airline company has launched five new direct flights from Chisinau International Airport to Germany, Denmark, France and Belgium. The first flights will be operated commencing December 2018 and price of tickets will start at €19.99.
Thus, the company will operate direct flights to Copenhagen (Denmark), Dortmund and Memmingen (Germany), Paris (France) cities. The fifth destination is Charleroi Airport in Brussels, Belgium. The new flights were launched after the company added the second aircraft to Chisinau International Airport (AIC).
Also, the company will increase frequency of flights on existing routes, reaching up to 17 per week.
The commercial director of Wizz Air, George Michalopoulos, has said today at a news conference that tickets for new races can be already purchased. The company plans to sell 700 thousand tickets to Moldovan passengers in 2019.
Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Chiril Gaburici, welcomed company's initiative to launch new races from Moldova, mentioning that Wizz Air has already invested $200 million in Moldova.
Wizz Air is the largest low – cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe and entered Moldovan market in 2014. At present, it operates flights from Chisinau to eight destinations.
