Moldovan cabinet members have joint meeting with local public authorities of central district

Chisinau, 5 July /MOLDPRES/ - The central public authorities’ determination to actively get involved in the settlement of problems from settlements today was reconfirmed at a joint meeting of Moldovan cabinet members with representatives of the local public authorities (APL) from the central Criuleni district. The prime minister has said that he wanted to learn from the first source the problems faced by the people in the region, in order to jointly identify possibilities of solving them, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
„One thing is to see problems in the office and another thing is when you speak directly with people. We must be united in order to carry out nice things for the citizens, to bring criticize where needed, as well as to solve the problems through dialogue. We have never had triumphal messages. We called things by their names and we are responsible for our actions,’’ the PM said. Pavel Filip noted that the efforts made by the cabinet were further aimed at improving the quality of citizens’ living, as well as the return of the people who left abroad. Due to the creation of new jobs, some of them returned home and the number of people choosing to emigrate is decreasing.
In this respect, the prime minister referred to actions taken by the government for economic growth, stabilizing the banking system and developing the business environment. As a result of the increase in the budget revenues, social measures have been fulfilled, such as the increase in allowances, pensions’ reform and starting the reforms in the health sector, which will lead to the improvement of the medical assistance services.
The PM highlighted the programmes First Home and Good Roads for Moldova as projects with impact initiated by the government. Within the latter programme, 32 km or national and local roads will be repaired in the Criuleni district, with the overall value of the works amounting to almost 50 million lei.
Besides the improvement of the infrastructure, the APL representatives asked for the government’s support for the rehabilitation of the water and sewerage supply system. The prime minister said that solutions had been already identified to this problem, stressing the importance of efficiently managing the financial means from the ecological fund. Over 16 million lei is provided for projects on restoration in the Criuleni district within this fund.
The sides also discussed problems of carriers from Criuleni district. The PM demanded that the authorities in charge settle the difficulties dealing with the serving of transport means and the schedule of routes in a one-week-period. Other subjects were focused on clearing woods from the region, financing education institutions, opening of new medical assistance points, street illumination, construction of a waste polygon.
The prime minister said that all problems signaled would be treated with maximum of responsibility and an action plan was compiled to ensure an efficient intervention of the central authorities. To continue the dialogue with people from the Criuleni district, the governmental team today will go those 43 villages, where more than 72,000 people live.
