Chisinau, 5 July /MOLDPRES/ - “Come up with proposals, suggestions and you have my promise that, in case they are efficient, we will necessarily enforce them,” Prime Minister Pavel Filip said in a discussion with entrepreneurs from the central Criuleni district today.
According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the prime minister confirmed the cabinet’s openness for a constructive dialogue with enterprises, in order to jointly find solutions to problems they face. “The business directly contributes to the country’s development. Everything is based on you: profits, respectively the budget revenues, which allow us solving problems in education, health and other social sectors,” the prime minister said.
At the meeting, the PM reviewed the measures undertaken by the government to improve the business environment: reform of the permissive acts, cutting the number of institutions with control duties, simplification of reporting procedures and of getting work permits, as well as the modernization of the Labour Code.
As a result of these actions, an economic growth worth 4.5 per cent was achieved in 2017 and the average salary on the economy increased to 6,000 lei this year. At the same time, 115 million dollars was invested in Free Economic Zones and the total number of employees grew by 65 per cent. About 60,000 jobs were created in 2017 in all.
Nevertheless, there are still many reserves and the government wants to have a reliable and efficient partner in the business environment, the PM said. The entrepreneurs appreciated the measures taken by the cabinet and also referred to problems which prevent them from developing business. Among them, there is the illegal carrying of passengers, high costs for the irrigation of farmlands, procrastination of trials, as well as cases of pressure on behalf of fiscal inspectors.
At the same time, entrepreneurs came up with their own visions to facilitate their work. They proposed, inter alia, to change the Fiscal Code through the introduction of a single value added tax and approving amendments which would allow developing leisure zones nearby water basins.
The PM said the suggestions by the business environment would be thoroughly assessed within the competent ministries, including on the platform of the Economic Council under the Prime Minister, and would be taken into account when elaborating policies for developing business.
