Movement of high-tonnage lorries to be banned in dog days in Moldova

Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - An order of the Economics and Infrastructure Ministry and the Interior Ministry on the temporary limiting of the movement of high-tonnage transport means on Moldova’s roads has been published in the Official Journal of Moldova.
Under the document, the movement of high-tonnage transport means with the overall weight of more than 20 tons will be restricted on the national roads. The restriction will be valid for the days when an air temperature higher than 30 Celsius degrees was forecast during 10:00-20:00. The measure restricting the road traffic was taken in order to protect the asphalt.
The exception will represent the vehicles carrying passengers, living animals and perishable goods of animal and vegetal origin, which participate in interventions in circumstances outside their control, the ones endowed with first-aid equipments involved in the prevention, liquidation of emergency situations, as well as vehicles involved in the restoration of roads within the limits of the construction sites.
The control over the movement of transport means will be exercised by the National Patrol Inspectorate of the Police General Inspectorate and the administrative unit Road Transport National Agency.
