Eighty National Army servicemen to participate in multinational exercise in Ukraine

Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - A National Army contingent on 9-21 July will participate in a multinational exercise, Sea Breeze 2018, due at the Shirokiy Lan training centre in the Mykolaiv region, southern Ukraine.     

According to the commander of the National Army, Igor Cutie, the goal of the exercise, to which 80 servicemen from the Stefan cel Mare motorized infantry brigade will be detached, is to enhance the inter-operability of multinational peacekeeping troops.     

Cutie noted that, in 2018, the National Army would participate in drills with 15 HMMWV-type military technology units, which will move to Ukraine on 7 July on the route Chisinau - Tudora - Starokozacie - Shirokiy Lan.

According to Igor Cutie, at the same time, four officers will act at the general staff of the exercise, placed in the Odessa city.   

Military from Bulgaria, the United Kingdom, Italy, Greece, Georgia, Denmark, Estonia, Canada, Lithuania, Moldova, Norway, Romania, Poland, United States, Turkey, Ukraine and Sweden will take part in Sea Breeze 2018. The National Army has been participating in this exercise since 2007.
