Moldovan meteorologists forecast rainy week-end

Chisinau, 6 July /MOLDPRES/ - Thunderstorm rains return in this week-end, according to the State Hydrometeorological Service.   

After a rainy week-end, the precipitation will continue in northern Moldova, where the air temperature is to drop to +24 - +26 Celsius degrees during the day. In the central and southern Moldova, rains are expected till 9 July and the air temperature will rise by several degrees. At night, the air temperature will not exceed +20 degrees.    

According to the meteorologists, high air temperatures will come back by the end of the next week. Thus, the air temperature is to rise up to +28 degrees in the northerner Moldova, and up to +29 - +30 degrees in the central and southern regions.   

Multi-annual observations show that July is the warmest month of the year in Moldova. The average monthly temperature varies from +19 degrees in the north and up to +22 degrees in the south.

The coolest July for all period of measurements was recorded in 1979, when the average monthly air temperature fluctuated between +16.5 degrees (Briceni) and 18.9 degrees (Cahul). The warmest July was registered in 2012, when the average monthly air temperature oscillated between 23.7 degrees (Briceni) and 26.7 degrees (Dubasari, Comrat).
