Chisinau, 09 July /MOLDPRES/ – Customs Director Vitalie Vrabie has called for fluidisation of border traffic in summer. The subject was analised in a videoconference with heads of customs offices.
The actions to be undertaken include replacement of number of employees and verification equipment, use of all control lanes, including those ones on opposite crossing, as well as involvement of heads of customs posts and their MPs in clearance act.
Vitalie Vrabie also requested that the lists of intervention groups be updated, members of which, if necessary, recalled to work and engaged in customs control.
Also, anti – fraud officers will be present non – stop in the post to take over the documented fraud reported by inspectors at the control line.
The Head of Customs said he would personally check on how control is taking place in posts with the highest traffic values. "It is important that the increase in passenger flows does not affect the waiting time in customs," said Vitalie Vrabie.
According to the Customs Service, the statistical data from previous years show that in August the number of persons crossing the border increases by about 20 per cent.
