As much as 120 million lei earmarked for paying subsidies in Moldova's agriculture in first half of 2018

Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ - About 1,000 agricultural producers from Moldova will receive subsidies worth over 120 million lei on behalf of the state. The money was authorized for payment by the Agency of Interventions and Payments for Agriculture (AIPA) starting from 1 February till present.
The resources earmarked will be used, in particular, for purchasing agricultural technology, respectively, the construction of houses for packing, fridges for preserving fruits, grapes and vegetables. Most applications for subsidies were submitted by farmers from the Cahul and Edinet districts.
At the same time, AIPA started a campaign of reception of files on providing subsidies in advance, offered to young people and women who will start businesses in agriculture. The state will provide 65 per cent of the overall value of the project proposed and another 35 per cent will be invested by initiators of the idea. Only the projects which do not exceed the value of one million lei will be eligible.
According to AIPA, the total value of the National Fund for Agriculture and Rural Environment Development for this year amounts to 900 million lei. Forty five million lei of this money will be used to pay subsidies in advance.
