Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ - The mayors and local public administration employees will receive higher salaries by 50 per cent. The deputy leader of the Democratic Party (PD), Vladimir Cebotari, made statements to this effect following a weekly meeting of PDM today.
According to Cebotari, the salary increases might be applied as early as starting from next August. “Today, the Democratic Party ruled to politically back in parliament a draft law coming up with solutions of increasing the salaries of local public administration employees, so that the concerned salary increases become effective as quickly as possible,” Cebotari noted.
He also said that the salary supplements would be provided at the expense of increasing state budget revenues, as well as from the additional incomes registered in districts. “For the next half a year, the money will be taken from the state budget and starting from the next year, other financing sources will be identified as well,” Cebotari said.
According to the PDM deputy leader, at present, decision-makers look for solutions to increase the wages of the technical staff from the medical and education institutions.
