Chisinau, 10 July /MOLDPRES/ - The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) today announced the ceiling prices for fuels for the next two weeks. The prices for petrol and diesel will be by 0.39 lei and, respectively, 0.25 lei higher.
The ceiling price for the most demanded Premium-95 petrol for 10-24 July was set at 19.49 lei for one litre and for diesel – at 17.25 lei per one litre. The new prices for petrol and diesel will enter into force at midnight. Operators will no longer have right to sell fuels by retail at higher prices than the ones established by ANRE.
The energy regulatory authority explained the increase in the prices for fuels by a 3.4-per cent growth of the average Platts quotations, up to 25.42 dollars for one ton of petrol and, respectively, by a 2.29-per cent rise, up to 14.80 dollars, for one ton of diesel. Thus, the increase in the average Platts quotations, recalculated in Moldovan lei, stood at 0.39 lei/litre for petrol and 0.25 lei/litre for diesel, including the value added tax (VAT).
The other components of the ceiling price, in the last two weeks, remained unchanged. They are made up of the quota of the VAT of 20 per cent, excise duty quota of 3.76 per cent for one litre for petrol and 1.76 lei for one litre for diesel, as well as the specific trade margin of 3.25 lei for one litre.
ANRE also said that, in accordance with the law on oil products market, the ceiling selling retail prices for petrol and diesel are calculated based on the Platts average quotations, re-calculated in Moldovan lei, proceeding from the average exchange rate of the national currency, set by the National Bank of Moldova against the U.S. dollar for the last 14 calendar days.
